Parts of the Alexander Avenue neighborhood include addresses in the Town of Wolcott. This is due to the border of Wolcott and Waterbury having been drawn in a dysfunctional relationship to individual property borders. Some homes have siblings of the same age going to different schools because one sleeps in a Wolcott bedroom and the other sleeps in a Waterbury bedroom.
Taxes are collected pro-rata from each municipality.
Also, there are no roadways leading to nor from some streets in Alexander Avneue neighborhood from Wolcott, except to go through Waterbury and back to Wolcott.
