Woman Dies in Police Custody
The death of a 29-year-old woman while in Waterbury police custody is under investigation by the state Office of the Inspector General. The woman was arrested Friday near an abandoned house on Willow Street, and authorities say she was searched at the time of her arrest. Details surrounding her death have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing to determine if proper procedures were followed.

Drug Complaints Lead to Arrests
Police arrested three individuals following multiple drug-related complaints.  The operation, focusing on areas including West Main Street, Judd Street, and French Street, resulted in the arrests of 3 individuals.  Charges included possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, and operating a drug factory.  During the search of a West Main Street residence on October 16, 2024, authorities recovered $1,365 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and crack cocaine.

6 Charged with Prostitution
On Monday, Waterbury police conducted a prostitution sting in the Willow Street and Hillside Avenue areas, resulting in the arrest of six women.  The suspects, ranging in age from 33 to 43, were charged with prostitution as a result of the operation.
