Mill Street Park: Needs ​Official Name

After a fire destroyed an industrial site at 313 Mill Street, the City of Waterbury worked with the Connecticut Department of Economic Community Development and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to develop the Mill Street Park.

The only remnants of the Nova Dye Factory, the most recent previous occupant, are memories.  

The officiation of the park, held on October 19th, 2022 @ 10:00 a.m., was keynoted by Mayor Neil O'Leary.

Located in the South End District's South End Neighborhood near to South Main Street, the new park fills a need for outdoor and sporting activities.  To cite a neighbor, "the site of the park is within sight of the Holy Land cross, has easy access for kids of all ages, replaces an eye soar, and is very much appreciated by our community".
