Cultural Influence of Lebanese Americans in Waterbury

The Lebanese American culture of Waterbury is, perhaps, more prevalent than their population numbers would normally yield.  More accurately, the Lebanese Americans of Waterbury have participated in building and strengthening the City and her culture, as opposed to influencing it.

Notably, Waterbury has benefited by the civic and communal participation of Lebanese Americans having been elected to Mayor, Aldermen, State Representative, et cetera.  Those of Lebanese American pride have also actively participated in several community advocacy groups, such as the East End Community Clube, the East Mountain Neighborhood Association, and others.

The Lebanese American culture has been celebrated prominently, mostly via their annual A Tast of Lebanon Festival, which has become part of the City's culture since 1999.
