The Gathering - Bigger Than Ever
With the unofficial count exceeding 16,000 people, The Gathering is clearly a winner for Waterbury. The 2016 version of the event attracted more countries than ever before, and it is quickly becoming part of the City's culture. Thousands of people enjoyed the cuisine and crafts of scores of cultures from around the world Saturday, September 25th, 2016. The celebration saturated Waterbury's Library Park on Grand Street throughout much of the day. Attracting people from many parts of the State, The Gathering enabled the Brass City residents to share and appreciate the heritage, similarities, and differences of their neighbors. Highlighting the melting-pot advantage of the City of Neighborhoods, The Gathering is quickly entrenching itself as an event tradition. The easy-access location - seconds from I-84, CT-8, the railroad, and the Naugatuck River - and cooperating weather paved the way for a day to remember.
