Arlington Heights, the name, was all but forgotten until 2014 when community advocate Arlanda Brantley sought to better the community's quality of life. Brantley worked closely (and relentlessly and tirelessly) with area residents, organizations, and the City of Waterbury. Brantley and many community supporters, with some assistance from other community and neighborhood leaders and the then-President of the Waterbury Neighborhood Council (WNC)Vincent E. Martinelli, Jr., created the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association (AHNA). Despite that part of the historic neighborhood is identified by some government maps as being in the North End of Waterbury Political Action Committee Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NEWPAC) (NRZ), founders and members of the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association (AHNA) are very clear in their self-recognition as not being part of that PAC or Zone, and hold true to the more historically accurate neighborhood outline. See more on the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association (AHNA) here: AHNA. Did Anyone From Arlington Heights Become Famous?Yes! Mark Anthony McDermott, who is now known as a famously successful actor Dylan McDermott.
