Bridgeport Man Charged with Operating Waterbury Drug Factory

A 41-year-old man from Bridgeport was arrested in Waterbury on drug charges. 

City and state police were investigating narcotics activity in the area.  They noticed a suspicious, unregistered vehicle parked near 928 North Main Street.  Upon investigation, they found 179.9 grams of marijuana allegedly for sale, along with drug paraphernalia.

The man was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including operating a drug factory.  The charges suggest this was more than just possession, but potentially a drug distribution operation.

This arrest appears to be part of ongoing efforts by local and state law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the Waterbury area.

Child Hit by Bus
A 6-year-old child was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a school bus on Thursday.  Emergency responders transported the child to Saint Mary's Hospital, and they were then taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center for further treatment.  The Waterbury Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.

Movie Night
​Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury (NHSW), the North End of Waterbury Political Action Committee (NEWPAC) neighborhood association, and the Police Activity League (PAL), in conjunction with Uplifting A Life, present a free screening of the animated film "Zootopia" on Friday, August 19th, 2016, at 8:00p.m. at the PAL Park Baseball Field, 64 Division Street.  Refreshments will be served.
