  1. About the Bristol Neighborhood
    1. ​The Bristol neighborhood includes the areas immediately surrounding Pear Street, Peach Street, Elise Drive, Highland Avenue (south and southeast of Highview Street, not including Highview Street, through to the City's Borough of Naugatuck), Bristol Street, Bristol Street Extension, and Bristol Avenue.  
    2. The Bristol neighborhood does not include any properties on Oronoke Road, nor Hop Brook Road.  
    3. This neighborhood is also sometimes referred to as Platts Mills; the Platts Mills neighborhood is also sometimes referred to as Bristol.  However, the neighborhoods are distinct enough for a clear separation; namely, both the Metro North railway and the Naugatuck River serve as geographic boundaries.  For more information, see Platts Mills.
    4. This neighborhood is often considered to be in the West End section of Waterbury, or in the Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, or the South End of Waterbury.
  2. History of the Bristol Neighborhood
    1. ​The Bristol neighborhood was named after the family of William Henry Bristol, who made at least 1 Hollywood motion picture and several key inventions at Waterbury.
    2. Several historic buildings, in great decay and immense disrepair, are still, partially, standing.
    3. The famed and recent "Bristol Fires" started in one of the Bristol buildings.  Due to the sheer depth of the accumulated debris, water from the fire department during the fires evaporated before reaching the source of the fire.  Numerous, and highly dangerous, chemicals burned during the fire, polluting the water and air surrounding much of the neighborhoods of Bristol and of Platts Mills, and also of the neighboring borough of Naugatuck.

The Board of Directors of, and, subsequently, the Membership of, the Town Plot Neighborhood Association agreed to take on the Platts Mills and Bristol neighborhoods, as they previously did with Upper Murray Park and with Lower Murray Park, under the Presidency of Vincent E. Martinelli.  During the infamous "Bristol Fires" recently, without Membership nor Board of Directors approval, and in complete defiance of a previous resolution made, voted on, and accepted by the Board of Directors and Membership of the Town Plot Neighborhood Association, the new president of the Town Plot Neighborhood Association, Art Dense, refused the request of several Bristol residents for them to participate in, and benefit by, the Town Plot Neighborhood Association
