Woman Killed, Two Injured in Waterbury Car Crash into Telephone Pole

Victim in fatal Waterbury crash identified

A 30-year-old woman from Waterbury was killed in a tragic early morning car crash on Saturday after the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a telephone pole on Frost Road.

The single-car accident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 700 block of Frost Road in Waterbury. According to police reports, the car traveled off the roadway and collided with a telephone pole.

The impact of the crash caused the 30-year-old female passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. She was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released by authorities.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old male, suffered only minor injuries in the crash and was also transported to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment.

A third person's involvement or injuries was not reported in the initial accounts from police.

The cause of the accident remains under active investigation by the Waterbury Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit. No further details about potential factors like speed or impairment have been provided at this time.
