1st Saturdays
  • Willow-Orange-Walsh Neighborhood Association (WOW) OPEN** [non-member]*     
    • Meetings are held on the 1st Saturday of the month, 10:00 a.m., at the WOW Community Learning Center.  
    • These meetings are open to the public, and generally attract the community police officer, and Alderman, and fewer than a dozen people.
  • Scoville Homes Neighborhood Association (SHNA) OPEN** [non-member]*     President: James Monroe     Meetings are held on the 1st Saturday of the month, 11:15 a.m., at the WOW Community Learning Center.  These meetings are open to the public, and typically attract fewer than a dozen people.
2nd Thursdays
  • Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association OPEN** [non-member]*
    • Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursdays of the month, 6:00 p.m., Long Hill Baptist Church, 131 Garden Circle.  
    • Meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings typically attract the community police officer, an Alderman, other officials, and about a dozen people.
  • Brooklyn Neighborhood Association (BNA) OPEN** [Member]****
    • In December of 2016, the former president of the BNA resigned, there has been no known replacement.
    • Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursdays of the month, except July and August, at 7:00 p.m. at the Saint Joseph’s Parish Center on John Street. 
    • These meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings typically include the community police officer, and generally attract fewer than a dozen people.

  • Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, except July and August, 7:00 p.m., at the Our Lady of Lebanon Church Hall at 8 East Mountain Road.

  • Meetings typically attract an Alderman and the community police officer, and generally include a guest speaker and 3 dozen people.

  • Waterbury Neighborhood Council (WNC) CLOSED  
    • ​All discussions, unless otherwise agreed to by the WNC board of directors, are held in secrecy. 
    • The WNC is a coalition of 5 of the City's neighborhood associations
    • 21 neighborhood associations which at one time were members of the WNC are no longer members of the WNC. 
    • 7 neighborhood associations, due to failure of the WNC to support such associations, no longer exist. ​

    • the community typically has meetings or other events about 3 times per year, sometimes in a resident’s backyard and sometimes at Chase Collegiate School in the West End neighborhood. 
    • Meetings generally include a guest speaker and the community police officer.

    • Several Woodtick residents presented themselves to then WNC President as being interested in forming an association and becoming a WNC member; a WNC change of management in 2016 resulted in no support by WNC and no Woodtick association was formed.​
  • Wolcott Road [non-member]*
    • ​This neighborhood is an officially recognized neighborhood of the City of Waterbury
    • Although no Wolcott Road exists in Waterbury, the neighborhood is labeled as such since Wolcott Street becomes Wolcott Road when it crosses into Wolcott, and since, at one time, the existing Lakewood Road was named Wolcott Road. 
    • Several Wolcott Road residents presented themselves to then WNC President as being interested in forming an association and becoming a WNC member; a WNC change of management in 2016 resulted in no support by WNC and no Wolcott Road association was formed.

  • Robinwood [non-member]*
  • Cross Over (CONA) [non-member]*
    • ​Named as such to identify itself as an area which is largely ignored by and not included in TPNA nor WHNA, along the boarder of Town Plott Hill and Bunker Hill, especially where Bunker Hill crosses over into Town Plot Hill along the Highland Avenue bridge
    • Several Bunker Hill residents and residents of the West End in the general vicinity of the northern portion of Highland Avenue from Chase Parkway to West Main Street presented themselves to then WNC President as being interested in forming an association and becoming a WNC member; a WNC change of management in 2016 resulted in no support by WNC and no Cross Over association was formed.
    • Although at least 3 meetings took place between over a dozen members, and talks with WNC were promising, a change of WNC management in 2016 resulted in a lack of support by WNC and CONA never formed.
2nd Tuesdays
  • Western Hills Neighborhood Association (WHNA) OPEN** [non-member]*     
    • President: Tom Harman     
    • Meetings are held 5 times per year, including January, March, May, September, and November, on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:00 p.m., at the Harold Leever Cancer Center, 2nd Floor Board Room, on Chase Parkway. 
    • Meetings generally attract a dozen people, including the community policy officer.
  • The North End of Waterbury Political Action Committee (NEWPAC)  OPEN** [non-member]*
    • Meetings are sporadically held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:00 p.m., at the Regan School.
  • Main Street Waterbury (MSW) CLOSED***  [non-member]*
    • Meetings are closed to the public.
    • MSW was a member of WNC and was the first group to exit WNC 
    • MSW is a member of the national Main Street organization
    • MSW has been recognized nationally for various accomplishments
  • Saint Margaret’s/Willow/Plaza Neighborhood Association (SMWPNA) OPEN** [Member]****
    • Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m., at 60 Elmwood Avenue. 
    • Meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings typically include the community police officer and over a dozen people.
  • Town Plot Neighborhood Association (TPNA) OPEN** [Member]****
    • Vice-President: Maria Grazia Cavallo
    • Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, except in July and August, at 7:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Hall, 785 Highland Avenue. 
    • These meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings typically include a guest speaker, the community police officer, and 2 dozen people. 
    • Typically, the December meeting is replace with a Christmas party (date and location may vary)
    • TPNA typically hosts a yearly picnic, open and free to the public.
2nd Wednesday

    • Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, at the Old Waterville Firehouse, 6.30 p.m., Thomaston Avenue. 
    • Meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings typically include the community police officer, a guest speaker, an Alderman, other public officials, and over 2 dozen people.

  • Bucks Hill Community Club (BHCC) OPEN** [non-member]*
    • Meetings are held on the last Tuesday each month, except in July, August, and December, at 7:00 p.m., typically at the corner of North Main Street and Cemetery Road. 
    • Meetings are open to the public
    • Meetings often include the community policy officer, guest speaker, and over 2 dozen people. 
    • BHCC publishes a monthly newsletter

    • Prior to it's dissolution, the Alexander Neighborhood Association (ANA) was a member of WNC. 
    • Despite efforts of the WNC, this association was unable to identify and install a president and therefore could not continue to exist.
  • Fairmont [non-member]*
    • Prior to it's dissolution, the Fairmont Neighborhood Association (FNA) was a member of WNC. 
    • Despite efforts of the WNC, this association was unable to identify and install a president and therefore could not continue to exist.
    • Several residents were later identified and agreed to help lead FNA and agreed to become a member of WNC in 2016; a change in WNC management ended FNA interest in re-forming the association
  • Murray Park [non-member]*
    • Prior to it's dissolution, the Murray Park Neighborhood Association (MPNA) was a member of WNC. 
    • Without efforts of other organizations, such as WNC, this association was unable to identify and install a president and therefore could not continue to exist.
  • Platts Mills [non-member]*
    • Prior to it's dissolution, the Platts Mills Neighborhood Association (PMNA) was a member of WNC. 
    • Without efforts of the WNC, this association was unable to identify and install a president and therefore could not continue to exist. 
    • PMNA reached out to TPNA to support the efforts of TPNA but a rogue and displaced TPNA member rejected their request without bringing such request to TPNA board of directors nor members.
    • PMNA expressed interest in becoming a WNC member in 2016 but a change of WNC management occurred and PMNA retracted their request to be a member of WNC
  • Scott Road [non-member]*
  • Berkley Heights; Long Hill [non-member]*
    • Prior to it's dissolution, Berkley Heights Neighborhood Association (BHNA), also known as Long Hill Neighborhood Association (LHNA) was a member of WNC. 
    • Despite efforts of the WNC, this association was unable to identify and install a president and therefore could not continue to exist.
    • In 2015, an increased interest by neighborhood residents lead to discussions with WNC to reform, conditionally as Berkley-Long Hill Neighborhood Association (BLHNA); discussions and progress continued until 2016 when a change of management in WNC resulted in discontinuation of talks with WNC 
  • Lakewood Neighborhood Association (LNA) [non-member]* DISSOLVED
    • Meetings were held on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m., typically at the Lakewood Social Club & Bistro, 394 Lakewood Road.  
    • These meetings were open to the public
    • Meetings generally include a guest speaker, the community police officer, an Alderman and/or State Representative, and nearly 2 dozen people.  
    • This association dissolved in early 2018 at the resignation of both it's President and Historian since both had moved and now live about an hour away.  Several months notice was given to LNA members and to WNC; no members volunteered to be President. 
    • All LNA funds and documents were forwarded to the Waterbury Neighborhood Council (WNC)
    • After a change of WNC management in 2016, the WNC did nothing to support the association during this time of need and transition. 
    • WNC president (at that time) Lisa Velez did not return WaterburyLife.com calls regarding this.
