Plaza Mirrors City Profile
Our Multi-Cultural City Hosts Restaurants With Food From Around The Globe
Waterbury has a long history of multi-cultural experiences. In fact, Waterbury is so steeped in the tradition of co-mingling cultures, that there is almost an air of symbiosis.
Perhaps music is the best medicine for many ailments, and food is the binding commonality of varying cultures. People may not speak the same language, and they may not consume the same cuisine, but, in Waterbury, people appreciate being so near, so close, to a culture that they might otherwise not encounter.
One, modern, example of that is a little plaza on Wolcott Street. There, right at 753 Wolcott Street (although each storefront address may be different), one could drop by for a quick refreshing feature of The Juice Lab. This seemingly all-American trendy place offers “delicious blends” and “natural flavors”.

Barely feet away, one might stop in the Happy Dragon for some Chinese food.
Or, if you prefer a more island-like experience, J’Stax may be the place for you. Once again, only steps away, this Jamaican foodery derives flavors from yet a third country.
One of the newest restaurants in this plaza is QuePollo BBC. The “Wood Fir BBQ chicken” offers a Puerto Rican dimension to sustenance-plating. No need to move your car though, all of these restaurants are mere yards apart.
If pretty presentation and gift giving suits your fancy, stop by the Edible. Food arranged as a florist might made them famous, and now they have, uh, donuts?! Yes. Or, more accurately, Edible has donutible.

If you’re still in a hurry and not able to sit and eat, there’s still one more choice: Blessings African & Caribbean Market. Fufu mix, Koko, dry sweet potato leaves, palm oil, and so much more are available for your home restaurant.
American Juice Lab, Chinese Happy Dragon, Puerto Rican QuePollo BBQ, Caribbean and African groceries, and arrangements of the Edible kind make this an international addition to the famed Miracle Mile. Near the Bouley Manor neighborhood, this Wolcott Street neighborhood in the East End is a great and true reflection of Waterbury’s reputation as the City of Neighborhoods.
